The Raphis Palm (Rhapis excelsa), also known as the Lady Palm, is a graceful and hardy ornamental plant from the palm family (Arecaceae). Originating in Southern China and Taiwan, it is prized for its elegant fan-shaped foliage and strong air-purifying abilities. This plant thrives in bright, indirect light but adapts well to low-light indoor spaces, making it perfect for homes and offices. In Singapore’s tropical climate, it requires watering 2–3 times per week, with the soil kept lightly moist but never soggy. Indoors under air conditioning, watering once a week is sufficient. The Raphis Palm is an easy-to-care-for plant that enjoys humidity, well-draining soil, and good air circulation. It dislikes direct harsh sunlight and waterlogged roots.
